Some people are born not to do things. I’m one of them; I never did anything at school or at the Bar. [...] I never expect anything to happen now, and so I am never disappointed. [...] I seem fated to pass through the world without colliding with it or moving it — E.M. Forster

The foundation of our work in schools is The New Zealand Curriculum Principle “Learning to Learn”.

Hooked on Thinking helps schools explore “learning to learn” by:

    • Focusing students on “learning to learn.”
    • Using SOLO Taxonomy as a model of learning outcomes
    • Exploring a curriculum for “learning to learn” aligned to The New Zealand Curriculum.
    • Developing a curriculum and pedagogy to help students “learning to learn.”
    • Integrating “learning to learn” through differentiated planning and self assessment.
    • Sustaining student “learning to learn” capacity through a common language of learning.

We do this in the context of:

    • Learning Communities
    • Critical Literacies
    • The New Zealand Curriculum
    • Curriculum for Learning and Assessment for Learning.
    • Information Communication Technology.
    • Inquiry Learning.
    • Thinking Skills.
    • Gifted and Talented.
