Pam Hook and Julie Mills have extensive experience in education, directing Ministry of Education contracts and independent contracts across New Zealand.
The focus of their work is on ensuring students achieve deep learning outcomes and “learn how to learn”.

HOT Online Book The Differentiated Curriculum Model (HOT DCM) – A curriculum model and program for diverse learners living in local communities in a rapidly changing world. A collaboration with New Zealand teachers who provide examples of the practical application of the curriculum model. The book is overstuffed with design ideas for developing a school based curriculum designed to meet all the expectations in the New Zealand Curriculum The HOT DCM uses SOLO Taxonomy to create explicit, proximal and hierarchical student learning outcomes. New Zealand teachers who would like to contribute to the HOT DCM project are encouraged to make contact.

FEET FIRST Walk to School Initiative We have written the curriculum content for the Land Transport Agency Feet First initiative . These materials have been written using the Hooked on Thinking Differentiated Planning Template, the New Zealand Curriculum and SOLO Taxonomy as a model of learning outcomes. SKM Learning Today – Sustaining Tomorrow Teaching Resource We have been part of a collaboration with SKM and Epsom Normal Primary School to produce a draft unit on teaching sustainability. The draft teaching resource materials exploring environmental, social and economic sustainability have been developed using the Hooked on Thinking Differentiated Planning Template, the New Zealand Curriculum and SOLO Taxonomy as a model of learning outcomes.
